Welcome to the Library at Valley Union High School!
The new year is now in full swing and the Library has its "running shoes" on. As Mrs. Allen and I begin our third year of supervising the Library at VUHS, we are once again pleased with the progress accomplished during the past year. To date, approximately 2,900 hours of volunteer efforts have produced a library our students and faculty can be proud of. More importantly, we continue to make strides in adding library resources to our automated system and believe this zealous endeavor will be completed within the next year.
With our recent compilation of library statistics for our Annual Report, the following 2011-2012 statistics are noteworthy:
Books (Reference, Non-fiction, Fiction) in our collection: 7,483
Periodicals (41) and Newspapers (4): 45
Media (VHS, DVD's, CD's, Audio Tapes) holdings: 924
Vertical files: 892
Processed (added to our automated system) resources: 4,191
Total circulated resources: 1,117
Finally, Mrs. Allen and I again encourage each of you to visit our Library to see the amazing changes that have taken place over the past year. Oh, and if you would like to volunteer in assisting students at our Library, please contact the school and ask for a volunteer packet. We would love to have you on board.
